Linda S. Burns, SPHR - Bio

    Linda S. Burns retired in August 2021 from her position as Vice President Human Resources at Helsinn Therapeutics (U.S.), Inc., which is the U.S. arm of The Helsinn Group, a privately- held pharmaceutical company headquartered in Lugano, Switzerland that develops and markets cancer care drugs to enhance the quality of life for cancer patients.

    Ms. Burns has over 40 years of Human Resources experience, and prior to joining Helsinn in June 2010, she held HR positions with NexMed, Inc., Merck & Company, Ariel Corporation, Dataram Corporation, Ivy Hill Corporation (a Time Warner Company), Wang Laboratories, Continental Grain Company, and Exxon Research & Engineering. From October 2003-April 2006, she was an evening & weekend instructor in Middlesex County College’s “Personnel/Human Resources Certificate” Program in Edison, NJ. Ms. Burns received a MSILR degree from Cornell University/Baruch College in NY, NY, a B.A. degree from Union College in Schenectady, NY, and has been SHRM-SCP certified since May 2015.

    Ms. Burns has been serving on the Board of the Staffing Management Association (SMA), a SHRM chapter, as Secretary, since 2012. Ms. Burns served on the Board of the Monmouth Symphony Orchestra in Red Bank, NJ from August 2014-June 2018 and on the Board of the Monmouth Festival of the Arts in Tinton Falls, NJ from August 2008-June 2013.
