    SMA-NJ's 2014 Diversity Annual Event

Generational Diversity participants will build their awareness, knowledge, and skills to promote respect, equity, and inclusion in the workplace for people of all ages.

At the conclusion of the presentation, participants will:

-Receive important facts, resources, and terminology that can improve their leadership ability to work with all four generations (Traditionalist, Baby Boomer, Gen “X”, and Gen “Y”-millennial).

-Engage in a highly interactive learning experience that builds knowledge about each generation and moves them toward action planning.

As part of our presentation, you will learn from Renee Ayers, Director of Professional Development Services at The American Conference on Diversity, how we can increase our ‘ageism competence’ when dealing with both internal and external clients.   The presentation will also provide participants the tools they need to increase their productivity within a multigenerational work environment.  This presentation is designed to focus on raising your awareness of effective, inclusive, and alternative conflict resolution approaches that lead to more positive interactions.  Participants will have the opportunity to explore the value of the inclusion of all four generations in the workplace.

Renee Ayers is Director of Professional Development Services at The American Conference on Diversity.   She works closely with senior leaders in corporate organizations, faculty and administrative professionals in higher education, the community, and interfaith entities to help build more inclusive environments both across NJ and nationally.

Renee has 20 years of professional experience working at Fortune 500 Pharmaceutical and Biotech Companies in Sales and Account Management with a specialized focus in Global Diversity and Inclusion Project Management.  She holds an Executive Masters in Public Administration from Rutgers Newark (Cum Laude) and a Bachelors of Science in Biology/Pre-Med from Seton Hall University.  Renee is a member of Phi Alpha Alpha Honor Society for Public Affairs and Administration and is Six Sigma Greenbelt Certified.

Renee’s former Diversity Project Management role, while employed at Merck & Co., Inc., entailed leading and providing guidance to the Global Services (GS) division of Merck & Co., Inc. Vice Presidents and diversity team of highly-talented employees.  She facilitated the advancement of Diversity & Inclusion (D&I), raised cultural awareness, and improved business performance.  As a D&I practitioner, she developed learning content, created global cultural curricula, and designed training materials currently used within the GS division.

Renee brings professional expertise, passion, enthusiasm, and dedication to the Diversity and Inclusion discipline.

Renee continues to remain faith-connected, and participates in community speaking engagements in order to increase awareness of D&I.  Her determination and can-do positive attitude are critical success factors that have helped her bridge diverse cultural gaps across the globe.
